Bro Joel and his Wife, Rita, came to Immanuel in July of 2011. They have four children, Caleb (and his wife Gabby), Eli, Anna Catherine and Benjamin. Bro Joel has 30 years of experience in ministry with children, youth, and college students, serving at churches in Tennessee and South Carolina.
Joel went to college at Union University and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. He earned his Master’s degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in 1996.
Joel’s hobbies include sports, video games, collecting sports memorabilia, reading the Bible and books, and spending time with family and friends. Joel places a lot of importance on relationships. He believes our God is a God of relationships. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, so that we could have a personal relationship with Him. Joel’s favorite Bible verse is, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
