Find a Shoebox

Start with an average-size cardboard shoebox you have at home or plastic container with lid. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. Please no boot boxes.

 -OR-

Pick up a preprinted shoebox at Immanuel Baptist Church in the foyer now.

Step 2

Get your Label

Along with your box, you can pick up a label in foyer.  Use the label to indicate on your shoebox whether it was packed for a boy or girl and which age category: 2– 4, 5 – 9, or 10 –14.

Adhere the label to the bottom section of the lid over the "place label here."

You can also print a barcode label from the Samaritan's Purse website to follow the progress to its final destination. Make sure to not tape over any part of the barcode.

Step 3

Fill with Gifts & Supplies

Select a medium to large "wow" item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.

Don’t forget to also include a personal note and photo —sometimes these are the child's favorite things to receive!

For a list of approved items or helpful suggestions, check out 'What Goes in My Shoebox?' at Samaritan's Purse.

Step 4

Pray Over your Box

Most importantly, "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17) for the child who will receive your shoebox gift.

Please also pray for:

  • Their family to also be receptive to Good News of Jesus Christ.

  • The pastor of the church who delivers your shoebox gift.

  • The community to be transformed by the Gospel.

Step 5

Donate $9 per Shoebox

A donation of $9  per box is critical to cover shipping and other project costs.

For easiest processing, you can give online at Samaritan's Purse through their Label Options page, or by mailing a check in the postage-paid envelope available in the print brochure.

If you use an online option on the Labels page, you can Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your gift.

Return with your Shoebox

Bring your filled shoebox back to Immanuel Baptist Church on NOVEMBER 14th and take them with you to your seat for morning worship.

We will have a special time for all families with shoeboxes to bring them down to the steps of the alter.

Please do not bring them sooner. We want everyone to participate in this special service on November 14th.
